Want to become leaner and meaner?
If you’re like most people, I’m sure it’s on your list of New Year’s resolutions. And here are 3 quick dinner tweaks that will get you closer to that goal:
Consume soup beforehand – The journal Appetite published a study that found people ate less when a meal was preceded by warm soup. This is probably because we sip the soup to let it cool. And this slow consumption allows our stomach to tell our brain that it’s full and doesn’t need many more calories.
Use a small plate – The smaller the plate, the less food you’ll be able to fit. You want your dinner plate to be smaller than lunch since it’s closer to bedtime. This may be hard since most Americans make dinner their biggest meal. But you’ll have to make the change to see slimmer results.
Load your plate properly – As a general rule, half of your plate should be filled with vegetables. 1/4 should contain a lean protein, while the other 1/4 should be a starch that’s high in fiber. With this mix, you’ll feel full longer due to all the fiber and protein. Plus you’ll consume lower calories than if most of the plate was filled with empty carbs.
Besides those 3 tips, there’s another quick way to lose weight. And when I say quick, I mean QUICK:
