If you’re like most people, you’re going to use St. Patrick’s Day as an excuse to get drunk and act a fool. And while that’s perfectly acceptable on this day of debauchery, you’ll probably want to avoid this:
A nasty hangover.
As you know, a hangover can get so bad, it’ll make you never want to drink again. And if you have important things to do the next day, you’ll find it hard to do them due to:
- Wanting to throw up
- A massive headache
- Lack of energy
- Lack of focus
- And so on…
Here are 3 tips to help overcome that nasty hangover that’s sure to come after drinking all that cheap green beer, whisky, or whatever else will be your St. Patty’s poison:
- Hydrate while you drink – Alternate each alcoholic drink with a glass of water. This will prevent dehydration plus excessive drinking that will worsen your hangover.
- Load up on electrolytes – Coconut water is particularly good at giving you electrolytes (chloride, potassium, sodium) to lessen dehydration and get you back on track. Sports drinks like Gatorade will help in the same way, as will Pedialyte.
- Sleep – Luckily, St. Patrick’s Day falls on a Friday this year. This means you should be able to squeeze out some extra hours of sleep on Saturday. Sleep will help you stay oblivious to the hangover effects as your body processes all that alcohol out of your system.
A hangover will certainly take the life out of you and make your energy levels tank. But if you feel like that everyday, you may have a lack of good bacteria in your gut…
